We Get Another Shot at This

AI is moving quickly. Faster than most governance models. Faster than most policies. But moving forward safely is not just the job of industry leaders or regulators. It depends on individuals deciding what responsible use looks like for them.

I did not fully appreciate what constant access to devices would mean for my own kids. Most of us did not. We adopted quickly and figured out consequences later. AI feels different. Capabilities are improving quickly, and organizations feel pressure not to fall behind. That makes judgment more important, not less. Inside an organization or inside a home, someone still has to decide what is appropriate, what is helpful, and what crosses a line.

In many ways, this feels like a mulligan. A chance to be more deliberate the second time around. Within teams, good judgment is becoming a competitive advantage. Within families, it is becoming a responsibility. The tools will keep improving. The real question is whether our standards improve with them.
